[edit] Block placement

Block placement mode
Block placement mode

To begin placing blocks, enter block placement mode (default: 2).

As of beta 0.75, there are two ways of placing blocks - single placement and a click and drag mechanic.

[edit] One by one

To place a single block, left click where you want it to go.

[edit] Click and drag

To use click and drag, choose a starting point for your line and move your crosshair over the block (making sure it is within reach). Then, click and hold the right mouse button. Now you are able to drag the line to wherever you want it to end - wireframes (see below) will indicate the shape and length of your current line. To place the line, place your crosshair over the block you have chosen to end it on, and release the right mouse button.

To cancel a line you have begun, place your crosshair at an invalid ending position and release the right mouse button. The most common way is to look out into the open, as the blocks in the distance aren't within the player's reach.

[edit] Block color

Colour selection

Colour for each block is customisable using the chart in the bottom-right hand corner of the screen - use the arrow keys to navigate. The currently selected colour is highlighted by a flashing black/white outline. Alternatively, you can 'copy' the colour of any block in the game by putting your crosshair over it and pressing the 'grab colour' button (default: e). This is especially useful when trying to camouflage a building to its surroundings.

[edit] Wireframe

Introduced in beta 0.60, wireframes were introduced to indicate whether a block position was in reach of a player and available for placement. As click and drag was introduced, they became a visible guide to show the player what path their 'dragged line' would follow.

A white wireframe indicates that the position is available for placement (in both placement modes), while a red wireframe indicates that you do not have the blocks available to complete the drag.

[edit] Tips

  • A player may not place blocks directly into the water.
  • The world is only 64 blocks high, including the water layer.
  • No player may dig through water.
  • Any blocks that are not connected to the ground by other blocks will collapse and disappear.
Block counter
Block counter

A player may only carry up to a maximum of 50 blocks at one time. They may only place as many blocks as they are carrying. When a player touches their team's command post, the number of blocks in their inventory is reset to 50.
