[edit] Question
Where is the proper forum to discuss the organization and setup of the wiki? I think we need to make some changes to the strategy/tactics pages and format, but I'm not sure where to discuss it. --anonymous
- Answer: if you have pages to put forward that need attention in any way, put it in the list on the main community portal page. If you have questions or queries, place them in here. --TheGrandmaster 10:50, 6 June 2012 (EDT)
[edit] Renaming "Shovel to Spade"
I think that we should rename the page Shovel to Spade. As i said in the talk(but no one was reading me D:),it is named Spade in game(ace of spades, on kill feed it is named spade, and it is called spade in game's files),so it is called spade in wiki. TheGuy299 19:09, January 26,2012 (UTC)
[edit] Write pages in other languages
I don't know if I am in the right place to ask this but here is my question: Can I write some pages in other languages than english in the wiki? I'm talking french and I think that I can help the french community by translating a part of the wiki. --Philpa (talk) 13:35, 3 July 2012 (EDT)
[edit] No Hosting Ability?
Saw the site and decided to buy game from Steam but find no ability to host on a dedicated server even though this site says it comes with a server.exe - had I have known this I wouldn't have bought a copy.. just glad I didn't buy the rest of my family copies. Hope you will fix this situation soon.
- This wiki was grown and developed by the long-standing beta community, or the community surrounding the "prototype" of the new steam version. The beta version of Ace of Spades is free, and includes numerous customisation options including easy skin modifications, map creating and of course, server hosting with a large array of community-developed scripts and features. The steam release does not, and will not, have community-hosted (third party) servers[1] - they are Jagex hosted and run; however they have said they may open rental of some form in the future. If you want to take a look at this "prototype" version there's a whole bunch of people, both from the beta community and new players, who have setup shop over at http://www.buildandshoot.com - which is run by some of the previous community leaders/administrators prior to Jagex's removal as they set up their own team. It has its own master list, branch of the server software and the original free game version, so if it's servers and hosting you're after, that'd be the only place you'd find it - for the beta versions of the game (which many people prefer anyway ;) ).
- All the best, --TheGrandmaster (talk) 23:18, 20 December 2012 (UTC)
